Discovery Park of America Welcomes Two New Board Members

Union City, Tenn. – Discovery Park of America is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to the board of directors: Emily Billingsley and Ann Joiner.

“We are thrilled to have Emily and Ann join our board,” said Scott Williams, president and CEO of Discovery Park. “They are both passionate about the mission of our organization, and we’re grateful they will be serving the community alongside our other board members and staff.”

Discovery Park is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit museum and heritage park in Union City, Tenn. with the mission of inspiring children and adults to see beyond.

Billingsley serves as the chief financial officer for Williams Country Sausage, a company her grandfather founded in 1958. Prior to that, she worked as a certified financial planner for Raymond James and in the wealth management division of Morgan Keegan. Billingsley was born and raised in Union City and is a graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis. She received her MBA from Murray State University. Billingsley is a board member of the United Way of Obion County. She and her husband, Clay, live in Union City and have two children.

“Discovery Park has brought so much to our area and to all who have had the opportunity to visit,” said Billingsley. “I am excited about the opportunity to get involved in the great work this organization is doing.”

Joiner is corporate counsel for BBVA USA, a bank headquartered in Birmingham, Al. She was previously the recipient of the “Volunteer of the Year” Award from the Birmingham Bar Volunteer Lawyers Program in recognition of her time devoted to providing pro bono legal services to low-income citizens in need of civil legal assistance. She was an attorney with the law firm of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP in Birmingham before moving to Union City. Joiner is a board member of the United Way of Obion County and for the Obion County Industrial Development Board. She was born and raised in Murray, Ky., and is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law. Joiner and her husband, Clint, live in Union City and have two children.

“I am really looking forward to serving on Discovery Park’s board,” said Joiner. “We’ve all seen so much change this past year. More than ever, it is important to carry out Discovery Park’s mission to inspire others to see and understand what lies beyond.”
