TN History for Kids Summer Road Show at Discovery Park of America

Tennessee History for Kids! is holding a special event on July 23 at Discovery Park of America. The focus of the program is on West Tennessee and the Mississippi River.
Scott Williams, president and CEO of Discovery Park, will begin the day with a tour of the museum and park. Afternoon presentations will begin with Bill Carey on the “land rush” of West Tennessee and the Fort Pillow tragedy. Author Jerry Potter will speak on the Sultana disaster, the deadliest maritime accident in American history. The final presentation will be on the history of the Mississippi River.
Cost of the event is $40, which includes admission, lunch and tour. All participating teachers will receive certification showing six hours of professional development credit. Life-long learners are welcome to this very special event.
