Discovery Park of America Holds Members-Only Plant Sale

UNION CITY, Tenn. (April 4, 2025)Discovery Park of America will hold its inaugural members-only plant sale on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 8 a.m. to noon. Entrance for the sale will be at the North Gate.

Plants in the sale were grown in the Farm Credit Mid-America Greenhouses, which were added to the heritage park in 2023. A limited selection of flowers and vegetables will be available, including annuals such as begonias, petunias and salvias; perennials such as Shasta daisies, daylilies and ornamental grasses; and unique vegetable and herb varieties including Orange Hat dwarf tomatoes and jalapeño pumpkin spice peppers.

“Our grounds, exhibits and education teams work closely together on utilizing the greenhouses for educating and inspiring our visitors on agriculture and horticulture topics while also growing many of the plants guests see in our 50-acre heritage park,” said John Watkins, Discovery Park’s director of grounds. “From the very beginning, we’ve wanted to grow plants for our members while also raising funds for our nonprofit museum and park, so I am looking forward to seeing this dream come true.”

Discovery Park members receive unlimited admission to the museum and park, access to members-only events, unlimited access to Cooper Tower, and 10% off in the gift shop and café. Members are also automatically enrolled in two programs—Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) and the Southeastern Reciprocal Membership (SERM)—that provide free admission to hundreds of other museums around the country.
